END OF SEASON FINALS
The End of Season finals consist of two events held in September which mark the closing of the outdoor Racing Season and are open to non-F1 drivers. Both events are run over two full weekends, Saturday: 2WD and Sunday: 4WD as with other national events. Qualification for these events is via the regional series and therefore at the end of season finals you compete for both yourselves and the mid-west region. You can enter these events in the same way as you do for our regional events using an online entry form linked below, but there is one small difference: ENTRY FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
Full details of each event as well as entry fees are explained below and information can also be found in the BRCA 2009 Handbook, pg. 36, section 9, 10 & 11.
BRCA British Regional Championships / Junior National Championships / Veteran Championships
Kidderminster, September 5th and 6th, 2009
As the title indicates, this single event stages 4 different championships over the same weekend. COMPETITORS CAN ONLY COMPETE IN 1 CHAMPIONSHIP ON EACH DAY. Held at the multi-surface venue at KIDDERMINSTER, the championships held over the weekend are:
BRITISH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: This event is open to all competitors other than F1 license holders. Qualification is based upon finishing position within the regional championship 2009 excluding F1 competitors. 2WD is held on the Saturday, 4WD on the Sunday, with a traditional format of 4 qualifying rounds followed by finals for all, with 3 legged A finals for the top 10 (A finals). Entry fees: £5 per day.
JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP:This championship consists of 2 categories, under 13s and under 16s age groups. The best under 13 and under 16 racers in the country come together to determined the best U13 and U16 aged racer in the UK. Again qualification is via the regional series, and providing you have competed in at least one round of the regional series, you may enter this event. If you were under 13 on Jan 1st 2009 you are eligible for the under 13 champs, if you were under 16 by Jan 1st 2009 you are eligible for the under 16 champs. Again 2wd is held on the Saturday and 4wd on the Sunday. Entry fees: FREE!
VETERANS CHAMPIONSHIP: If you are 40 or over on jan 1st 2009 you are eligible to compete in the veterans championship. Qualification is via the regional series. The format for this championship is 4 rounds of qualifying and then just single leg finals. Entry fees: £5 per day.
Controlled tyres: for each championship running at the event are Schumacher Mini-spike/mini-pike 2 or Ballistic Buggy mini-spike, rear axle only, any compound.
As stated EACH DRIVER CAN ONLY COMPETE IN 1 DESIGNATED CHAMPIONSHIP EACH DAY. Therefore, for example, if you are 15 you must make the choice between racing in the U16 championship or competing in the british regional championship, you cannot compete in both! The online form will provide a drop down box to indicate which championship you wish to compete in, pay close attention, if you attempt to enter a championship which you are not eligible to compete in, your entry will be ignored.
Deadline for entries is Sunday AUGUST 23RD and Tom Yardy requires entry fees by this date also please. (unless entering either junior championship, as entry is free as stated above). Entry fees can be in the form of cash or cheque and given to Tom in person or posted to him by AUGUST 23RD.
All entrants into each championship will qualify and race seperately, the format, dependant on numbers will usually be:
Heat 1 and 2: Under 13s
Heat 3 and 4: Under 16s
Heat 5: Veteran
Heat 6-12: BRC
Entry numbers are restricted for each championship however it is very likely that if you wish to race you will gain entry.
INTER-REGIONAL F3/F4/F5 CHAMPIONSHIP
Broxtowe, September 19th and 20th 2009
Held at the all grass venue of BROXTOWE, the F3/F4/F5 championships are open to all drivers other than F1 or F2 license grade holders. Qualification for this event is via the regional series, and based upon your finishing position within your formula within the regional championship. i.e. automatic qualification is given to the top 5 F5s, top 5 F4s, and top 5 F3s in each class of the regional series. However, as it is unlikely that all regions will wish to take their allocated places at the event, it is likely that if you wish to compete and get your entry in, you will gain entry. Again, like national events, the event consists of 2wd on the Saturday, 4wd on the Sunday, 4 rounds of qualifying and finals for all, with 3 legged A finals each day for the top 10. Entry fees: £5 per day.
Controlled tyres: Schumacher Mini-spike/mini-pike 2 or Ballistic Buggy mini-spike, rear axle only, any compound.
Deadline for Entry is AUGUST 23RD, and Tom Yardy requires payment in full by this date also please, in person or via post.
