Re: 4WD running with 2WD

My thoughts are that 4wd offers a definite advantage. They shouldn't count owards the 2wd championship. If there is enough cars then they should run seperately. However I don't have a problem with 1 or 2, 4wd cars mixed in with the 2wd class. I can see the point about 2wd cars not being able to run ...

Re: ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL BUGGY MEEETING AT HINCKLEY

In response to Jons post. I was there slightly late at 11:10, by which time the track was part complete as people had turned up earlier than the 11:00 stated. As you know full well because you spoke to me at the time, I did spend time laying the remainder of the track. If you'd stayed until the end ...

Re: ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL BUGGY MEEETING AT HINCKLEY

Not a bad meeting. A few areas we can fine tune though. 1 or 2 small areas where we can improve with the track etc. One or 2 of the corners were coming unpegged and we need to put in more pegs in certain areas. - e.g end of hairpins. - This will be worse at the regional where the track will see more...

Re: Track Designs

Plenty of tent pegs. Go for 3m on the track width (as per national regs.) Also remember this is a minimum value. - i.e you set the apexes of you tightest corners at that distance but everywhere off line should be wider. Always used to make the straight 4m wide or more at the boys club with the strai...

Re: Track Designs

A few points. Which side is the rostrum? Which way do you plan to run the tracks? My suggestion is that we put the straight on the opposite side of the track to the rostrum, as it lets you see the twisty bits more easily as they are nearer. - I'd also add metre or two to the width of the straight co...

Re: help before the regional on sunday

If you're very desperate, I have a futaba am radio you could borrow for the day.

xtals would be 675,685 785.

This is the bottom of the range futaba so no epa or anything like that.

Re: help before the regional on sunday

Sanwa use different transmitter xtals to everybody else.

KO definitely won't work, - nor will futaba, or hitec.

You may stand more chance asking for a spare radio.

Re: tires for buggies??

You can't go far wrong with ny sort of minispike on grass. Although if your doing regionals, you need to have schumacher or ballistic buggy rears. Inserts don't make a lot of difference offroad. I use schumacher hard inserts, but pretty much any foam will do. Once you get established it helps to hav...

Currently waiting on bits to fix my car, so looks like I'll be unable to run indoors this week.

Re: Summer Buggy Racing at Hinckley

I haven't seen exactly where the new rostrum is, but I'd say it's very unlikely that you'll be able to utilise the bank due to visibility.

Re: 4WD MID-WEST REGIONAL THIS SUNDAY - RD1

Well I was trying for the chassis, but only managed 1 caster block, 1 steering yoke, 1 rear shock tower, 1 rear shock tower mount, 1 cracked wheel, and 2 bent screws.

Pretty impressive seeing as the chassis is held together with glue!

Re: electricity outdoors??

I believe there's normally an extension lead used for the compter etc., but you'll need a 12v for charging.

Re: Summer Buggy Racing at Hinckley

If you put the table top at the start of the straight you'll have problems seeing the upramp. Ideally the table top should be right in front of the rostrum from a visibility point of view. - to stop people going mad over the table top, the best way is to put a corner straight afterwards. You then pu...

Re: 4WD MID-WEST REGIONAL THIS SUNDAY - RD1

Dean - just to elaborate on your post. The entry fee is normally £6 but any entries received afterthe dedline of 12:00 Wednesday incur a £2 penalty because they are late entries. - Making it £8 as you suggest. Additionally late entrants are not permitted to take part in practice and will be in heat ...
