Classes for indoor season 2009/10

Hi Guys,

Classes for this indoor season will be as follows:

Touring car
New 10.5t brushless class
13.5t stock class

1/12th
10.5t motor limit

Mardave
G2 silver can - completely standard with forward reverse speedo
Modified heat - Mardave brushless system or equivalent 13.5t system of your choice - now allowing upgraded carbon chassis (cars must be in the spirrit of weight limit and randomm checks will be carried out)

New class - Tamiya/RTR

This year we are promoting a beginners class aimed at Tamiya or RTR cars with a silver can.

Lets have a great 2009/2010 season!

Hi Dale,

Glad to see the Mardave rules have been firmly established from the start - hopefully this will keep everyone happy and preserve the Mardave spirit.

Also excited by the new Tamiya/RTR class - this might draw in more Tamiya Club members. I take it any type of Tamiya TC will be allowed, including the very competitive TRF versions? - or did you want to keep to the basic kits?

I think all is welcome subject to silver can as we see this as a well supported class.

Yup - I think you're right Dale - the experience with the retro buggies shows that the motor limit helps to equal the differences between chassis types.

I'll put a post on the Tamiya Club and see what interest it drums up.

My minds still not made up on what to race this coming indoor season. Looking for Mardave Oval, but don't know anywhere relatively local. Can anyone explain what cars a tamiya RTR might include, always fancied trying aTamiya FWD mini. Really don't want to race Mardave round JCC with a silver can !

well im gald that the 27t stock motor's are out of the mardave class and its back to how the v12 are ment to be.
So this year for me it will be
Std v12.

I think they should be fitted with a stick pack LiPo (round case version like a NiMh) and maybe std silver can or 55T silver can motor.

Rubber tyres and std specs. No Warmers or addittives!

That way they are easy to drive, not to fast and you only have to charge the battery once a season LOL.

HPI have some new LiPo Stick Packs coming around £30 RRP for a 3200 (i think) LiPo round case.

So Ben... seeing as you are doing some shamefull pluggin for HPI! does that mean you can do a deal on these?!

The kits (F1) RRP for 115 area so they are not too expensive anyway

We need to keep the rules very simple, maybe allow the bearing sets (EDIT @ 8.99! a set)

There will be new tyres that come out which will be softer as the season progresses, maybe we could run the hard in one final and softs in the other?? no fuel stops though lol

These will look awesome on the grid! We could even have a team championship of 2 drivers and have the cars painted up in the proper liveries.

The new Tamiya class sounds like a great idea to me. I'll be racing in that one. ( that's not meant to put anyone off!! ) I hope I read it correctly and the motor is going to be standard Tamiya kit issue type 27turn sealed can motors only as that's a great leveller and could see a mixture of 4WD and 2WD rear and front wheels drive cars being raced together happily. I agree with Richie and fancy giving racing the Tamiya front wheel drive Minis a go. Should be fun. I think we'll be able encourage more new racers to join us too with these type of cars being raced.
