both myself and james will be doing the regionals this year (both running atomic carbon S2's) cant wait

Also dont forget the coventry summer series which is thursday nights and also sunday's

there's loads of oportunities to get the buggy's out this summer (if we have one)

Just a thought is any one interested in getting a buggy heat run on foams at wednesday club in leicester just to see if it would be viable as a new class at hinckley when we return in september? :D :D :D

I'll be doing a few regionals.

We used to have a few epople run buggies on foams indoors with touring car springs.

The main thing that killed it as the track markings at the time, which killed buggy wishbones. (Solid wooden blocks)

The current track markings are a bit friendlier though.

My personal opinion though is that if you want buggy class indoors you'd be better off sticking to BRCA rules and going with spikes.

The class will then also be much closer to what is being run at other clubs such as Worksop or West Bridgeford.

I've still got great Memories of Racing 2WD Buggies Indoors at the Hinckley Club :D

To get good grip with Rubber Tyres on Carpet, you'd have to go for Schumacher Yellow Mini-Pins, unfortunately though, you'd be lucky to get 2 Meetings out of them, as they wear so quickly. At around £16 a Set(excluding Wheels & Inserts), it would be far too Expensive to Race them on a Weekly basis.

Running on Foams would be the answer though, as these are around half the Price of the Rubbers & last quite a few weeks longer 8)

I think that Kamtec stock the Foams :D

i must admit when i used to race my 2wd at bedworth indoors many many moons ago we used to be free to use foams or rubber and it used to be wicked racing
and that was it mini pins not micro spikes lol

Hi Guys,

I was also involved in the indoor buggy revolution and remember the breakages!

My advice would be to run indoor on spikes as they do with BRCA. This class is building and is very well supported in the winter and maybe something we try to host once in a while.

I think foams with standard suspension however may be a compromise, and I do have around 8 sets of front tyres if anyone wants any!

I would not want to go to the touring car springs again as it defeats the object of the buggy.

A discussion topic I think for the winter subject to successful grass racing!

I may be supporting some regionals but with work at the moment it may be difficult.... :(

Regards

Dale

My uncle has a cat 2000 with foams on and smaller springs on it he said when he raced indoors they use to run on a 12t motor. And it was great racing. Its mine if i want it?
