mardave modified heat
Hi guys. if i was to race a mardave in the mod heat would it be possible to have a 88 spur 64dp. or do i have to stick to the mardave gears (46..48..50.) Also it is 10.5 or 19 turn motor to match the mardave BL system

Re: mardave modified heat
Im sure ive seen peaple with brushed motors in there mardaves. I have got a BL system but the last time i put it in the car it played up
Re: mardave modified heat
No idea on the rules, but I wouldn't even try to run 64dp in a mardave. I guarantee they will strip.
You can get away with 48dp but even that can be a bit dodgy.
There is far too much flex in the motor mount on a mardave for 64dp gears to work.

Re: mardave modified heat
To clarify the Mardave classes MUST run with Mardave available products, therefore, NO 64DP only Mardave gearing etc and this is for both classes.
Modified Mardave is 10.5t or mardave system, otherwise you can run in standard with either silver can or 27t.

Re: mardave modified heat
Dale. i was under the impression you could run a 19 turn motor in with the mardave BL system. A test was done to see what motor would match the mardave system. (a 19t motor)..anyway i tried to let him run on a 10.5 but all i had was trouble with the car poor kid never got a race in Im going to try to set the car up again' if it still doing it (stuttering) then i will put the standard G2 motor back in and let him run on that.
Re: mardave modified heat
HI Warren,
The original plan for the modified heat was for it to move to brushless and to support the new Mardave system. As this has had its problems we allowed the 10.5t equivalent. On reflection, the 19t is the old equivalent to the 10.5t so I cannot see a problem in him running this in the modified.

Dale

Re: mardave modified heat
I dont want to start a debate again with the mardave heats. I will stick to the rules. i'll let him run on a G2 motor as a last result But kids are kids and he wants speed' so i tried the brushless system and like i said before. (stuttering) Today im going to try the system one last time in the mardave' and try and put the wiring neat and tidy if its still doing it then i would like him to run on the 19t motor. this could be early sign's of him coming back
Also' just a thought. the livvy's smile charity event which is on the 4th of april...starting time 16:30 would it be possable for hinckley club to start at an earlier time

Re: mardave modified heat
Hi Warren,
You are right we do not want to start the Mardave debate again! But a 19t motor is fine as it is equivalent to the 10.5t.
Unfortunately we cannot start any earlier....
We will however be discussing various ideas to support this at our committee meeting this week.
