Filling in some of the boxes on gearchart.com the other day when i came across the saying transmission ratio not sure what that is

I should imagine this is the internal ratio of the gear box

I you're running 1/12 or mardave the answer is 1.0. ( but then you should be more worried about rollout than gear ratio anyway as correct gear ratio changes with tyre size)

If you're running anything with a gearbox transmission ratio = no of teeth on the diff gear divided by no of teeth on the small gear on the shaft with the spur gear.
