wow forums never been so lively , i agree with jbs rules and deans as well see below but addded that the chassis should be v12 shape and commercially available

i think we will put this to the committee

Std V12 Suspension Front & Rear
Std Aluminium Chassis
Fixed Axle
G1/G2 Motor
ABS or Lexan Bodyshell(no 12th Shells)
Any Forward & Reverse Speed Controller

BRUSHLESS/MODIFIED V12 CLASS

1000g Weight
Std V12 Suspension Front & Rear
Aluminium or Carbon Fibre Chassis (must be v12 shape and commercially available )
Fixed Axle or Mardave Diff
Mardave Brushless Motor
ABS or Lexan Bodyshell(no 12th Shells)
Mardave Brushless Speed Controller

I just dont see the point in over regulating Rules like dictating on how many holes you have in your Chassis, its crazy?

As long as the Car is atleast 1000g, you should be allowed as many holes as you like!

I personally don't have £95 to splash out on a Mardave system at this present time......thats why I and a few others went for a £50 system :)
I think most club rules are still around the 540 motor (G1 or G2 ) what made you get a cheap brushless . . . is this some thing your club allowed or you just wanted to play in car park with
I was at the AGM this year to get BL voted in to run along side brushed @ Nationals for Oval racing.

There was NO BL setup fixed to run just a bl class.

Now I don't know about other people BUT I've not had a good Mtroniks speedo in a looooong time (which is where the Mardave system is coming from!) and on Sunday the Committee met up to discuss what system to use etc....and what they decided was to allow any BL speedo (NO mention of motor size!) that had reverse with a MAX price of £65

I don't mind everyone running the same motor ie the Mtroinks one from Mardave

I like these rules for the Mod
BRUSHLESS/MODIFIED V12 CLASS

1000g Weight
Std V12 Suspension Front & Rear
Aluminium or Carbon Fibre Chassis (must be v12 shape and commercially available )
Fixed Axle or Mardave Diff
Mardave Brushless Motor
ABS or Lexan Bodyshell(no 12th Shells)
Mardave Brushless Speed Controller Maybe change that to any BL speedo with a price limit???

I wouldn't worry too much as I'm SURE Chris has done plenty of testing with the system.......it's JUST my personal experiance with Mtroniks a few years back

had a reply from chris ( mr mardave) and his comments are below

Diff will only be an add on not kit spec, no plans for chassis change and defo not carbon
Keep diff to open class and kit spec cars to clubmans racing
will try and get other clubs involved
Chris

so with this in mind i propose that we run the 2 classes as

STANDARD V12 CLASS
1000g Weight
Std V12 Suspension Front & Rear
Std Aluminium Chassis
Fixed Axle
G1/G2 Motor
ABS or Lexan Bodyshell(no 12th Shells)
Any Forward & Reverse Speed Controller

BRUSHLESS V12 CLASS
1000g Weight
Std V12 Suspension Front & Rear
Aluminium or Carbon Fibre Chassis (must be v12 shape and commercially available )
Fixed Axle or Mardave Diff
Mardave Brushless Motor
ABS or Lexan Bodyshell(no 12th Shells)
Mardave Brushless Speed Controller

this will be passed to the committee as we need to finalise the rules in time for people to decide there class to race in the next championship, from january.

hi stox

reponse to your comments are that if you race a diff you must be in the brushless class as not allowed in std mardave and if found running these in std class will be put in the lowest heat and no points.

no diff in brushed cars

I agree with Tim's last post on the rules, they are nice and concise, but I also think you should allow at least the brushless class to put any holes in the chassis they like. Holes are free, you don't need to pay for them! :D Just make sure you have everyone adhere to the weight limit...

Cheers,
Scott
