Would just like to say a huge thankyou to the club today and a massive thanks to Richard for letting me borrow his car, was the first time I have raced in a very long time and I have missed the friendly atmosphere of the club, and especially Dales friendly smile

Will definitely be back for more, next time i'll be racing my own mardave

Brilliant - Glad you both had such a good time. Thoroughly enjoyed your company and look forward to racing with you for the rest of the season. The Tamiya TT-01E is the perfect chassis for having some good, simple, cheap racing in Quicksilver class. Though Andy you may want to have a read through some of the older forum posts - there's a few hop-ups we'd recommend to get it on par with the rest of the TT-01Es. Basically ballrace it, get a 55T spur gear and a 25T pinion. Simples!

Hi Dann/Andy,

Richard has been telling me about the racing yesterday - good to see the both of you had fun.

Andy - pity your Cossie didn't cut the mustard, but I'm sure with some attention it could be made to handle - the main thing for a TA01 would be to stiffen the shocks, lower the car and try to get the centre of gravity a bit lower. However I see you've gone with the masses and got yourself a TT01E - other than the gears and BBs - all you really need is a racing shell (might be able to help you out there) and some Sweep 32R tyres (available from the club).

Dann - I take it from your comment that you enjoyed your return to racing. Fingers crossed the V12 goes well for you next week.

It was bloody good fun! haha. The atmosphere and friendliness of geek corridor made it even better, including Richards trades and the occasional bad pun joke

If its still ok with you James can I come to collect the V12 on tuesday night from your humble abode? Also, do you have a V12 motor? I thought it came with one, but looked again at the ad and saw it didnt, my bad, asking because apparently you are the motor man.

hi guys, im selling my tamiya TT01 Type E,
I have put alloy upgrades on it,

I have never used this model, it has never even been sat on concrete.

It is a rolling chassis as it doesnt have a motor or esc.
I was going to put brushless in it but had alot of problems from an ebay seller, so ive given up and selling it without it.

upgrades:
Alloy tie rods
Alloy motor mount
Alloy Motor heatsink
Alloy Battery clamp
Alloy Front steering knuckles
Alloy Prop Shaft
Racing bearings through out the whole chassis.
an assortment of spur gears, 61, 58 and 55T
an assortment of pinion gears, 19, 22t and 23T,
A tub of spare parts
Imax B6 Balancing charger, with an assortment of different conectors
2 x Turnigy 2200 20C lipo packs,
Light kit fitted into shell (headlights and rear lights)

comes with wheel type 27mhz transmitter

the rc is ARTR, just needs motor and esc.

That was the chassis i bought payed £100 think it may well have everything i need plus i dont need the charger so will sell that and make a few quid back !!

Excellent - cheers Roger. There's a few of us poor Quicksilver racers who could use racing shells. They make such a difference to the handling compared with the realistic Tamiya shells it's almost unbelievable. I still think there's a few races left in my shell yet though - there are still some parts of the front end not covered in Duck tape!

We got different colour duck tape to so any repair is possible!!

I learnt from experience Andy. I stubbornly resisted giving up my frankly hideous Tamiya Pug 406 shell in snot yellow and struggled to get round the track - terrible grip roll as the day progressed. It was awful - I blamed the vintage TL-01 chassis - I was wrong! Raced it one day with a shell thrown away by another racer and the transformation was astounding. Couldn't believe it. Boring U.F.O. shells really do make a difference.

But I'm still stubborn - so I race the Tamiya Ferrari F430 shell as a compromise - anybody got any Duck tape in Ferrari red??!
