Just put the order in for 2 of the Xray cars, 2 tekins with hotwire.

What settings are you T3 guys running? Any help will be very much appreciated as I have had 2 years of trying to get a very insuperior car to compete at your level.

1. FDR for 13.5 and 10.5
2. Shock oils
3. Droop
4. Camber
5. Ride height
6. Springs
And anything else you would recommend.

Just emailed Ardent to see if I could have a lesson with Andy Moore. I know they were going to set up stuff like that. Are the settings much the same for there and Hinckley?
Thanks!

Hi Michael,

When building XRAY's the manual will guide you through how set your car up with a basic carpet set. I've run numerous XRAY's and the basic setups are very good, should be competitive out the box. Then will just be a few tweaks here and there to suit your driving style/track :D

Seems a bit excessive have a whole car for spares  XRAY's are renowned for their build quality! We all hit things, at worst you would probably break a c hub or steering arm.

1 - depends on what motor your have. We run X12's and our FDR tend to be around 8 for 13.5 and 8.5 for 10.5 with the Tekin.
2 - use kit
3 - 6 front 5 rear
4 - start with 1.5 and keep an eye on tyre wear
5 - 5mm
6 - Kit

What about body shell? Safe bet would be a Mazda speed 6.

Also suggest you invest in some new drive shaft pins for the front, they have a flat spot to give the grub screw a bigger surface area to tighten to. The kit ones have tenancy to come out!

Thanks Martin, just got the confirmation on the cars. I know it seems a bit excessive to have two cars but I am one of those who likes spares for every single part. Last weekend a few of the Xray's broke front corners. Albeit, it was freezing and ardent had zero driveshafts. Buying two cars I for sure know that I won't have to worry about spares. Not having them really affects my driving.

One day, I want to graduate to 10.5 so maybe I will have one car for both classes. I have enough electronics now with the two tekins and a few futaba s9550 servos. Just have to get a motor.

Thanks for your set-up tips. Will set it up exactly like that once i find out how to measure droop.

With the Mazda bodyshell, do you get the lightweight one?

The place I am buying the car contacted me back and they too said only to buy one car. Spares are in supply and I shouldn't have any problem getting any. That's brill! One car it is. Going to set up a spares package. They are going to program the Tekin at the track and then I can later calibrate it to my radio when I build it at home.

Looking forward to Sat and Sunday's racing.

Until then...
