Hi Craig,
The 'Pre 2010' Model GM120 Speed Control is'nt alot different to the Latest Version.
To look at, there Identical on Size(like a Breeze Block! ), but the 2010 Model has Smaller External Capacitors, making it slightly easier to Install in your Touring Car!
I dont think that the 'Pre 2010' Model is any Slower than the Current one either
.........I just think that the New one runs slightly Cooler & has more User Adjustents with the Later Firmware!
I ran the '2010' version in my Touring Car last year & it did'nt suit me at all, as I found it to have no feeling - more or less like an On/Off switch!
I also found that it would'nt pull off the line occasionally, but that may have just been my Set-up being slightly out!
Daz Lee or the Dovemyster(Ben Bridgewater) maybe the best person at HRCCC to Set it up for you mate, as they both seem very happy with them!
