A mardave chassie is 1000g even before you stick any thing on it. So when you start taken holes out of it you will be under that weight straight away. But when you have your ..servo ..batteries.. receiver..speedo..motor. and all the other parts of the car on it. you well over the weight any way.

Well it makes it fair right from the word go
Just look at Hot Rod for next year any motor can be used and speed controller to £65 . . .
Now how fair is that ?
Edited . . .Just think every one NOW . . . has same motor and same speedo its just now down to driving and setup skill
Now come on this is going to be fun you have to admitt . . . . I cant wait till I get Mine
Looks like I won't be doing the modified then if I enter this year!......NOT everyone can afford the asking price for the Mardave BL system
As I may have siad else where.....I'm NOT a keen fan of Mtroinks systems!
Also HOW can you say Mardave system ONLY when it's NOT even been released yet!

When cars are booked in to race they will be asked F1 OR F2 class and the heats may be mixed and in the finals there could be mixed as well but the winners might be
Certain peaple want the 2 types of mardave heats. a mod heat and a standard heat. I think mixing MOD and STANDARD together will make trouble for racers. if you have a standard mardave you would not want to be put in the mod heat its just not fair.

As Warren said, theres no point mixing the 2 Mardave Classe's........it'll just create confusion & upset Racers.
To be honest, the other Clubs Rules sound abit of a mess!
Tim Rogers(Commitee

) has already said, the current 'Standard' Class will stay as it is & the new Class will become a 'Modified/Brushless' Class, incorporating Mardaves Brushless System, Diff & Fibre-Lyte Chassis............nice & simple!
I spoke to Chris at Mardave today & he said that they've had NO problems whatsoever with the new Mtroniks Brushless Speedo, as it basically has the internals from the Touring Car Speedo, which can handle a 3.5T Motor! He also said that the Speedo is only using around 60% of its Output, with Mardaves new Brushless Motor, so I dont think that anyone needs to worry about the reliability of it............its far superior to their old Brushed versions!
Chris now has the Mtroniks Brushless Speedos in stock, but is still waiting on the Brushless Motors to arrive, which maybe the end of nextweek.............so its looking like the 2nd week of December for its release!

I'm against Lipo's to be honest, I don't really see any real advantages with them especially as most people will need to buy a new charger and lose the use of their current cells.
I think a lot of people will struggle to make the 1000g weight too with the new brushless motors, mine weighs 1016g IIRC so with the brushless motor (which is smaller) I think most people are going to have to use weights which therefore means that drilling holes will be pretty pointless. I agree with dean though, if there's a set weight who cares how many holes someone has in their chassis.
Other than that the rules sound good! I know a guy whos been making some carbon fibre bits for my (real) car, so I may be able to get some chassis' made up for less than the fibre lyte place which would obviously keep costs down for people wanting them.
