Re: motors?
Hi Craig,
As far as I'm aware the motor requirements for Quicksilver is unchanged for this season so the HPI Saturn 27T motor is still a suitable motor. Also permitted is the standard Tamiya issue silver can Johnson or Mabuchi motors as long as they are 27T. Mardave G2 motors are not permitted as they are 25T. I believe the club were planning on holding a stock of the HPI Saturn 27T motors but I don't know if this has happened yet.

Re: motors?
Hi Craig,
Following on from Richard's post - it's the same motor requirements as the previous seasons. We have a good stock of motors (Tamiya silver end Mabuchi RS540SH) available from the Club priced at £7 each - just ask at race control.
If you've got a number of motors and you want to see which one is best - I have a Fantom FACTS dyno that I can test them on for you.
Cheers
James

Re: motors?
James loves to get his hands on some rusty old Johnsons and give them a cleaning! He certainly spruced my Johnson up last season. He can work magic that man!
*Apologies in advance for another season of Johnson jokes*
Are you and Rich going to be at racing this saturday?

Hi Dann,
Don't get yourself all excited too soon. You may be a bit premature. Rumour has it the season start is going to be postponed by a couple of weeks. The clubs great and good are having a committee meeting tonight so expect a race calendar update later.

Re: motors?
I presume the club cars are still in the safe at JCC. I don't know if anything from them was transferred to the buggies for outdoor though. Perhaps James knows - we'll have to await his enlightened response!

Re: motors?
Hi Dann,
Unfortunately I'm having trouble with my plumbing ( bathroom) so won't be there this week. I had hoped to have got it sorted by now, but progress had been a little slower than anticipated.
However I'm racing on the 17th and will gladly have a look at your Johnson then; just pop it out for me and I'll give it a thorough examination . If it seems to be lacking performance, I can clean the end bell; after which I'm sure it'll be fit and healthy again.
Richard,
If you didn't take them home with you at the end of the season, I guess they'll still be in the safe - I don't recall anyone moving them.
Cheers
James

Re: motors?
Is any 27t motor allowed or just the hpi and tamiya ones?

Re: motors?
Basically it's just the HPI Saturn 27T, the Mabuchi RS540SH, or Johnson 540-J silver can motors. The later two are often included as the stock motor in a Tamiya kit. All three types are readily available and cheap!
