Hi Gazza
'fraid your info is incorrect.
According to the download manual, it supports 4-9 cell Nmhi / 2 cell lipo and has 3 modes- forward / brake, forward / reverse and forward / brake / reverse so is fine for the Mardave :P

I agree with the rules with the speed controls (We have to it's the rules) but I have seen Tekins in some Mardaves and still they are earning points. A while ago I built my Dad a brushless car but all I had were LRP Speed Controls with boost. One of them even has a setting where it blinks a light and shows that boost is not on. I was told that if I even ran this speed control no points would be awarded. So I went out and bought a new speed control and motor for this class.

So, what's up? One of the top racers in this Brushless Mardave class is running a Tekin. Are we allowed these speed controls now?

Thanks
Michael

That be me then and my . . . .Tekin :P

Yes but to be fair James's has not long done the rules ( also for the BRCA Dave section ) its all turned down to the same power as James's GTB ( out gentleman's agrement ) 8)
check out the results as you can see im not winning by pure speed its real close racing.

But to be fair to all I am waiting for the GTB and a phone call to collect it as others feel I have it on full Boost / Turbo etc

I can assure you its not as I would be BALLISTIC around the track and winning by 5 laps clear

All fingers crossed I should have it this week :n1

The rules may have not been in writing but well, 2 months minimum, before Christmas I was told we could not run turbo ESC's. More than that, I thought most of last season we could not run them. I must of heard wrong.

But am I thinking correctly that you should not have it on any boost or turbo? People are not worried you have it on max, they worry that you merely have it on. Both are on the fly timing settings on Tekin. Tekins are better, that's why I run one. Fantastic that you will have your new ESC soon. As adjusting your boost and turbo to match the fastest person in a class is clearly an advantage with that speed control.

Well as James sorted the rules and Posted them on Jan 10th. . :study
Does this then mean we all go out and buy one straight the way :?

Well I could not afford to do this straight the way but is it fair to run one or not . . . No idea but I'm not to bothered if the club wants to strip me of the results I guess thats fair :n1

Any way had a phone call to day and guess what

Image
.

Yep Im now turbo / Boost less ready for the fight of the next rounds hows that for devotion :n1

Whohoooo! Glad yah got your speed control.

No one was worried that yah had a Tekin in yer car. It was just that you were using boost/turbo to keep up with the fastest guy. I would of run one in my Dad's car if I would have been allowed.

What's up with the GTB to make it sooo good that would make you have to use boost and turbo on your Tekin to keep up?

I had to run 20 and 15 of turbo / boost JUST to keep up with James and even Matt / Graham Hunter
With the Tekin on ZERO stock mode it was so slow a Mardave with 2 cells Nimh would fly past me I kid you not

You could have . . .like I said no rules untill Jan 10th when James posted them before it was all talk about NOT having boost & Turbo

No Idea ( Possable Design. . Fets good componts etc ) but I need turbo & boost just to keep up with the GTB and the Fusion Logic but Come Saturday we shall see if its as good as James's GTB right gonna pack me kit off to Ardent to play and set up for Saturday
