Hi Jamie,
A Bunch of us Hinckley Guys(Justin, James, Jb, Nick & me)ended up going to the Ledbury Club last Sunday, which turned out to be a fantastic day.....Racing & Weather wise!
When we arrived, we all could'nt believe the difference of the Track(from the Photo above), as it was far bigger than we expected & more than just a Grass Track!
As well as being part Grass & part Dirt, the Track incorporated a varied selection of Obstacles, including a Table Top onto a Banked Corner, a Triple Jump onto a Paved area, a Dirt 'Humped back' Jump onto a very Bumpy Straight(near Rostrum) & to top it all off, a Technical section, known as the 'Dustbowl', right in the centre of the Circuit, which you had to keep the momentum through, to climb out of the other side........this really opened our eyes to what Off-Road Racing was all about, it was great fun!
We were also surprised, when we'd 'Booked In', as Doug(Race Director) said to us that we'd be having 2 Meetings during the day, this would be 4 Qualifying Rounds & a Final in the Morning, then the Track would be changed at Lunchtime. This would then be followed by 3 Qualifying Rounds & a Final in Afternoon.......having 9 Races for £5 was an absolute bargain!
We all really enjoyed Racing there & all the Local Guys made us Newcomers very welcome to their Club, I would definately recommend it to anyone that enjoys Off-Road!
We're already looking forward to the 2WD Mid-West Regional there on 7TH JUNE 2009
