The more the merrier Nick! Though my chances of winning a race are diminishing rapidly as numbers increase. I'm pleased though - more racers and more cars on track will mean it's even more fun with the increased competition.
Should be some good racing tomorrow - I'm too excited to sleep!

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Missed you Nick! And you missed some fun racing.
Hey Chris how was your first outing in the Quick Silver class? The Laguna looked great ( well it did from up on the podium! ) Hope you enjoyed the racing - we certainly enjoyed having you racing with us.
I'll be working on improving my "YellowGlo" racer to try and keep it on it's wheels a bit more next week. It very nearly suffered another 3 wheeled race finish this week, the suspension arm mount very nearly breaking away from the chassis - hopefully I'll be able to patch it up and get it back on the track.
Managed to grab a few start line photos on my way up to the podium - yellow seemed the race colour of choice this week!

Hi Jason, I'm wondering why in the last start-line photo my car and Team Hextall are all facing the wrong direction!

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Chris, Glad you enjoyed it mate. I use some excellent gluey stuff called "Shoe Goo" for bodyshell repairs. It's meant for repairing shoes ( never have guessed that eh! ) but seems good for just about anything. It's very sticky. Goes on a bit like silicon sealant and dries to a solid, slightly flexible clear rubber. Works very well for bodyshell repairs. For bigger repairs I put a light coat of Shoe Goo on the area to be mended, then press some fibre glass tape into the Shoe Goo and work another coat of Shoe Goo over the top - repairs seem bullet proof! It kept my summer Retro Racer Subaru Brat pick-up shell going alll season through the abuse that was receiving on the large outdoor jumps and table tops.

Hi Richard
I use shoe goo for body repairs and have done for some time, its also excellent for sticking NiMl cells together in side by side configuration, helps keep the pack robust in an accident.
One thing I use when repairing shells is plasterers tape, this is like a nylone mesh approx 50mm wide, available from all builders merchants, I use it in a similar manner to how you use fibre glass matting.

Hi Chris, I expect the club car will be available. Best thing to do is email Dale ( the club chairman ) directly as he is in charge of the club car bookings - his email adress is listed on the club homepage as dale.knight@btconnect.com or you could send him a PM via the forum. Dale gave the club car it's first race outing last weekend - hope it survived!!Burns wrote:Hello , is the Club Car available for booking Saturday 24 th.
