HINCKLEY CLUBS 2012 BUGGY SEASON

Post by Wacker1 »

Hi all,

Yesterday(Saturday 26th May), we saw ROUND 4 of Hinckleys 2012 OffRoad Club Championships.

As the Weather was pretty Fanatstic, it gave HRCCC's Highest Turnout of Drivers for this Season so far, Producing 6 Full Heats of Clean Competitive Racing that was very close! As well as the usual Regular Guys Racing, it was also great to see a few New Faces there.......including a few good Drivers from the Mid-East Region!

With the amount of people there, this allowed us to draw all of the Equipment out of the Container very Quickly & Build a Large scale Track, incorporating a Selection of Sweeping corners, Technical Chicanes & a decent sized Back Straight to allow for some great Over-Taking! The Layout also included an Assortment of Jumps, a Standard Table-Top & Corner Table-Top Ramp........to make things evenmore intresting!

Race Control was Run nice & Smoothly allday, with the help from Dale Knight, Jon Seals & Ben Cosgrove - thanks again to you Guys for keeping everything sweet!

Everyone involved was also looked after on the Refreshment side of things, in the aid of Keith Marson with his BBQ & Cool looking Fridge! 8)

The Meeting itself was Run in the usual 'Outdoor OffRoad Regional' Form of 4 Qualifying Rounds with your Best 2 to Count, to keep everyone in the true spirit of Buggy Racing........then Followed by Finals, all of which were amazing to Watch!

It was an awesome Days Racing for everyone!

Dean,

Excellent coverage of a brilliant club meeting.

HRCCC GRASS buggy racing seems to be building nicely this year after a rocky start due to weather etc. Spread the word and lets get even more drivers there!!!!

Regards

The report looks and reads really well, congrats to all concerned - its been a trying start to the season with the poor weather, but all seems to be working out.

Just remember, that the club is your club! managed by a few people on your behalf, so dont be afraid to become involved - espescially on race days.

Craig, I have removed your post, as I believe that it is not in the best interests of the club. I do however, acknowledge your rights to comment but would think that constructive critism along with potential solutions to your concerns would be a much better use of the forum

Hi all,

Yesterday(Saturday 9th June), we saw ROUND 5 of Hinckleys 2012 OffRoad Club Championships.

With the Weather Forecast predicted to be alittle Unsettled for the day, this initially made some Drivers abit unsure on whether to Race...........thankfully, the Forcasters got it wrong & we were blessed with some Mild, Dry Weather for the whole day, with the odd Sunny spell!
Fortunately, the unsure Racers ended up coming alittle later than the usual Arrival Time, so we again had good Numbers & plenty of Hands to Build the Track!

We went for a Slightly Bigger Layout than the previous Meeting, with a nice Wide Back Straight for Overtaking, but incorporated a very Technical section towards the middle area, which Racers could gain quite abit of time if they hooked up the Ultimate Lap! There was also an array of some Speedy sweepers, the Corner Table Top, Straight Table Top, a couple of Ramps, as well as Hinckley Clubs Unique 'Rumble Strip'.........which was used slightly differently this time!

A RACERS VIEW OF THE TRACK FROM THE ROSTRUM!

Race Control was Run extremely Smoothly again, in the aid of Hinckley Legend Jon Seals & a few little Helpers!
.......thanks again Guys!

The Racing was extremely Competitive in every Heat of all the Qualifying Rounds, during the course of the day & the Finals were the Cleanest & Closest we've seen yet!

Hi Guys,

Apologies but another weekend I cannot join in the fun :-(

Mind you I see a dodgy forecast for this weekend. Am I right in assuming it will be called off again?

Hi all,

Yesterday(Saturday 23rd June), we saw ROUND 6 of Hinckleys 2012 Club Championships.

Eventhough all the Weather Forecasts had Predicted pretty Heavy Rain Showers for virtually the whole Weekend, Hinckley was fortunate again to miss all this, giving our Club another great days Racing in some Dry Conditions!
Due to the Rainfall we had earlier on in the week, the Groudsman was unable to Mow the Grass, but thanks to Dedicated HRCCC Members Darren Lee & Jon Seals, they managed to get down to the Track at 9.30am on the Saturday & spend a couple of hours Cutting the Grass nice & short, as well as clearing all the Grass Cuttings up........thanks Guys! 8)

The Numbers of Racers were good again, so there were plenty of Bodies to help draw out all the Hoses, Ramps & other Features, to get the Track Setup as quickly as possible & ready for the Open Practice Session!

Mr Seals was running Race Control again, with the Help from his New Trainee Tom Lord, to keep everything going Smoothly through the course of the Meeting.........Top job Guys!

The Track itself had a decent sized Main Straight & some very Fast Flowing corners, to allow for some great Overtaking opportunities, but also had a very Technical Middle section, incorporating a variety of tight twisty Chicanes, one of which, had a really Tricky Jump at an angle! As well as a Selection of other different sized Jumps, we had the usual Main Table Top, Corner Table Top Ramp & HRCCC's unique Be-Spoke 'Rumble Strip'!

The Racing was extremely Competitive & very Clean allday........it was also great to see a Number of New Faces Attending the Hinckley Club, that are well known from the 'Mid-West' Region!

Hi all,

Yesterday(Saturday 21st July), we saw ROUND 7 of Hinckleys 2012 OffRoad Club Championships.

After the terrible Weather Conditions Cancelling the Last 2 Scheduled Club Meetings & Hinckleys 2WD Mid-West Regional Round, it was so pleasing for everyone to see some Fantastic Dry Hot Sunny Weather..........virtually for the first time this Outdoor Season!

On Arrival of the Majority of Racers, our Local Dedicated HRCCC Members Keith/Alan Marson, Jon Seals & Mark Stevens, were already Hard at work, Cutting the Grass & Setting up Race Control, ready for a Trouble-Free Days Racing! Thanks again for making all this happen! 8)

With a Decent Turnout of Drivers, Creating 5 Heats worth of very Competitive Close Racing, it made it very easy for everyone to pull together with Master Track Builder Andy Slingsby & Help Assemble the Track very Quickly, ready for the 'Open Practice' Session.
The Track Layout itself, was of a Large Scale(probably the Largest we've had this Year!), incorporating a Variety of Sweeping corners & Chicanes, that if hooked up right, alot of time could be gained! The Long Main Straight at the Rear of the Circuit, was Wider than usual, allowing for some good clean Overtaking Manovres to take place during the Meeting! The rest of the Track included an array of Jumps, a Straight Table Top, BeSpoke Rumble Strip & Corner Table Top, to mix things up alittle!

The Racing Standard was very good in all the Qualifying Heats throughout the Day & all Finals were also very Clean & Tidy, with Drivers showing alot of Courtesy for one another.............something that our Club has always been proud of!

Everyone Attending the Meeting were also looked after during the course of the day, with Keiths Special BBQ & Refreshment Fridge! Thanks for doing such an awesome job! :D

Hi all,

Last Weekend(Saturday 28th July), we saw ROUND 8 of Hinckleys 2012 OffRoad Club Championships.

On Arrival, we were fortunate yet again to have another Warm Dry Day, with some decent Sunny periods, giving a great Start to the Club Meeting!

All Racers & HRCCC Members that Attended, were very lucky for this particular Meeting, as Dedicated OffRoad Hinckley Club Driver Craig Nutting had already Cut all the Grass & virtually Layed out the Whole Track by himself, before everyone had Arrived! Thanks again for this Craig, you did a Fantastic job! 8)

Considering the Big 'Oople Weekend Event' was on, taking a Number of usual Weekly Hinckley Club Racers, we still had a Good Turnout of Drivers, giving 3 Full Heats & allowing alittle extra Time for everyone to have '2 Legged' Finals, as well as the usual 4 Qualifying Rounds - 6 Races for the the usual Price of 5!!

Andrew Slingsby was the New Recruit for running Race Control, with some extra Support from Craig Nutting & Eric Wilcock when Required! Excellent Job Guys, as the Meeting ran extremely smoothly allday! :D

The Track itself, was Faster & more Flowing than the Previous week, making the Racing Closer & more Competitive. The Corner Table Top Ramp & Straight Table Top were Included in the Circuit, but Craig had come up with a New Idea of using 2 of our Smaller Jumps, Seperated by 4 Railway Sleepers, kind of making a Table Top/Rumble Strip............I have to say it worked great & there was Positive Feedback from all Racers! 8)

Hi all,

Yesterday(Saturday 18th August), we saw ROUND 11 of Hinckleys 2012 OffRoad Club Championships.

A small Bunch of us got down to the Venue nice & early to get all the Grass Cut ready for another Fantastic Days Racing!

By the time that was done, a decent Group of Racers had turned up, to Help get the Markings out & Setup another extremely Large Track very Quickly!
The Track itself, had an a really long Back Straight, allowing for some awesome Overtaking Manovres, a selection of Sweeping corners & some Technical Chicanes to mix things up abit! As well as are usual assortment of Jumps, Straight Table Top & Corner Table Top Ramp, we made a New Obstacle out of a couple of extra Jumps & 4 Railway Sleeps, giving a Table Top-Rumble Strip effect! We also made onother kind of Straight Rumble Strip, out of some Sheets of Board, which also seemed to work well!

We had the usual Format of 4 Qualifying Rds, with your Best 2 to Count, but added 2 Legs to each Final again, making it evenmore Competitive & great Value for Money!

Thanks to everyone who Helped Pack the Track away so Quickly this week........& to a Combination of Andy Slingsby, Mark Stevens & Craig Nutting, who Setup/Ran Race Control during the Meeting!
