just so you know gaz ive been off roading for many years with defenders green laneing and non damaging trial events and for a 4x4 system to have any benifit in the snow you need a lockable centre diff which i believe a sierra has not got if this is not locked the car will spin all four wheels or the wheel with least resistance if the centre diff is locked then minimum you have a 2wd car at best or if you have the system i have in my shogun you can lock the centre diff and the front and rear diff so you have constant 4wd only down side is when you steer you get whats called axle wind up this is released when one wheel violently spins and releases the presure from the locked diff having said that the sierra has one of the best 4wd systems ever designed good luck in the snow old son see you tomorrow

The guy in the picture seems to be wondering how the hell he managed to get it parked like that! Good effort.

I had one of those on a Frontera 2.8tdi Long Wheel Base. Limited slip diff that is on the back. I tell you it was awesome. It had automatic locking hubs on the front.

You couldn't get it stuck, used to wear back tyres out though when pulling out of tee junctions with the power on, I used to love it. I want another but the old Mondeo is just too good to justify a change i.e. practical, reliable, economical, roomy and performs to well.

Well I run a mardave diff, quite pleased, relatively smooth, prevents the spurs gear from chewing up, I'm not convinced its any quicker, just different.
