Well after seeing a few more people run the mardave brushless I still don't think we should bother. Because it's sensorless it looked as though it was just power on power off (something that a lot of people commented on), causing the car to understeer badly out of the corners.

There's hardly any difference between gazza's lrp 13.5T combo for £70 and deans top end gear so I reckon scrap the price limits and go for any esc (with reverse) and any 13.5T brushless? If any other people agree it may be worth discusssing this with roger/the committee on Saturday?

It'd be ideal if all the mardave drivers could have a quick chat with the committee before racing starts so the other drivers don't have to wait for the finals.

The only issue I see here is if some people still want to run the mardave brushless. Maybe we could say any 13.5T or the mardave brushless?

hi gazza

personally i dont agree with your coment as the 27t brushed are equivalent to a 13.5
possibly even slower. it may also work out cheaper for some people in the long run
instead of having to keep buying brushless systems (like yourself).
so whats the problem ????

I can see where zak's coming from, but it's gotta be kept as brushless.

Thats why it would have been far better to have a STANDARD CLASS & MODIFIED CLASS, for Mardaves.

STANDARD CLASS = G2 Motor

MODIFIED CLASS = 13.5T Brushless/Mardave Brushless/27T Rebuildable Brushed Stock Motor

This would cater for everyone then :D

I don't race 'mare'dave but these posts always make me smile! As Martyn has already said how can you make something so simple so complicated!?!?

Dean has already shown that the carbon chassis is no quicker, neither seemingly is the diff or a top-spec 13.5t brushless system (the same would probably be true of a brushed and re-buildable 27t).

So....why not go back to a single class with 4 cell & any 27t 'equivalent' motor (i.e. G2 / any brushed 27t / any 13.5 turn brushless / 'mare'dave system)? Keeping the reverse rule will naturally keep the costs down on motor / esc combo's as those with reverse are usually aimed at the 'sport' end of the market.

I understand you are trying to make a seperate class so folks, if they wish, can spend more on their car & equiptment - but look at all the trouble its causing.

Unfortunately any form of motorsport will be more expensive if you want to be at the top, you just can't get away from that (in my opinion).

OMG!

Starting to feel this tarnishing the clubs credibility now, god help any new prospective racers reading this constant Mardave dribble! Doesn’t really represent the quality of the club we have.

No modified refers to the class of motor, look at touring/12th and not how you can modify the car.
