Re: Important announcement

Hi all again,

Update: Funding has now been arranged....I am getting underway with the rostrum as I type this and will get it all in place as quickly as I possibly can.

My aim is to have it all in place and useable for the first buggy meeting on the 14th!!!

Wish me luck...

Re: Important announcement

Ben, and anyone else that is interested...... I believe the plan is to take all the track markings down this Saturday....is this correct? Sorry to sound like the angel of doom all the time but the container roof is going to need quite a lot of strengthening....meaning we will need access in and out....

Re: Important announcement

An earth mound is out of the question! Current legislation states that hand rails would be required on either side of the mound of earth. (See, we can all be silly and go 'by the book') And, im pretty sure the rugby club would not be too keen on the idea of a mound of earth being dug up! If we are g...

Re: Important announcement

Hi all, I am hoping to go measure up the container toninght.......can someone with a key please meet me there so I can look at the staircase and how it fits? I will probably need someone to help me lift it into position...this will allow me to measure everything. Providing I have the go ahead and fu...

Re: Important announcement

James, At no point have I said catering for disabled people will be to expensive!! Only that a lift would be too expensive, not practical and just wont work. Now, I think we are all in agreement that a 50m ramp is ridiculous so where do we go from here?? Anyway, if I don't get the go ahead and some ...

Re: Important announcement

Right, lets get sensible.....a lift is out of the question due to cost and lack of power. I don't see a problem with a ramp in the future....but lets get the new venue useable first??? Just out of interest gaz .....and this is a serious question....would a ramp make things any easier for you?? I kno...

Re: Important announcement

Hi All, I am planning to go down tuesday when the container has arrived. Before i can finalise plans for the rostrum I need to look at the stairs....and how they fit to the container. I can then ensure the handrail / kick boards fit around it sufficiently. Can someone with a key to the container ple...

Re: Important Announcement

Rostrum price has been quoted, and material availability checked. See post in general chat.
Just waiting on an answer as to whether I should proceed and when the container is likely to arrive.
thanks

Re: Important announcement

Hi James,

That can be incorporated from the start......for not much difference.....if any in the cost.

Alternatively...It could easily be modified / changed in the future for an almost insignificant sum of money.
Its basically just remove bits, cut them and rejoin them!!!

Thanks

Re: Important announcement

Evening All, I have spent some of today looking into the rostrum, flooring and handrail etc...... Basically, the best option appears to be a steel expanded mesh floor.....this is a special 'raised' expansion that should make one side quite grippy even in the wet. Its made from 2.5mm thick material s...

Re: End of season trophies - love them or hate them?

Hi All, I think I am of the same opinion as most people....I like to win an award but dont really care for trophies. They take up too much room and only end up in a box in the back room or loft anyway! I have thought about a couple of things and think that perhaps a gift certificate for a local mode...
