Finding decent 4 cell NiMH packs at a reasonable price is difficult...in comparison LiPos are readily available and cheap.

On this issue of results...are the championship results correct for the previous week (24/01/09)? Pretty sure I finished 3rd overall in the 1/12 scale class, but I've only got 97 points.

The rules for the class are still up for discussion, but the general consensus appears to be tending towards keeping the running gear pretty much RTR for the very reasons you've suggested.
