Re: 1S LiPo equivalent to 4 Cell NiMH

Exactly... :D

Finding decent 4 cell NiMH packs at a reasonable price is difficult...in comparison LiPos are readily available and cheap.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks...perhaps something for the autumn season.

Re: 1S LiPo equivalent to 4 Cell NiMH

Hi James, Yes I know...perhaps I should have made myself clearer. The issue with 1S LiPo is the voltage for running the electrics - this gizmo will solve it. As for the voltage to the motor, that shouldn't be a problem provided the club allows lower turn motors. For example: A 5.5T brushless motor k...

1S LiPo equivalent to 4 Cell NiMH

Just found this product on Novak's website... http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=5474/135.0 due to be released later in March. With the BRCA annoucement regarded approval of 1S LiPo from April 2009 (see link) http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/news/2009%20BRCA%201S%20LiPo%20List%20V1%20pdf...

Re: Buggy Season starts in May

Hi Dale, Already spreading the word...posted details of the forth-coming buggy season (ref all classes and the Regional on the 24th May) on Tamiya Club's website forum. Have you thought about contacting BRCA to see if they can include an ad in their news section? Des Chand (Radio Race Car) may be ab...

Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

Hi Folks, As the summer season is fast approaching and people are starting to think about off-road racing, I thought now would be a good time to remind everyone about the option of running a class for vintage and re-released buggies. The intention of this class is to be for new comers/enthusiasts in...

Re: Summer Racing (Associated sc10)

Liam,

If you want some fun, how about joining in with a retro buggy? Have a look at the thread...

http://www.hinckleyrccc.co.uk/phpforums ... ?f=3&t=501

There's plenty of old or re-released buggies available.

Re: last saturday's result's?

On this issue of results...are the championship results correct for the previous week (24/01/09)? Pretty sure I finished 3rd overall in the 1/12 scale class, but I've only got 97 points.

Cheers

Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

Nice one Andy... The rules for the class are still up for discussion, but the general consensus appears to be tending towards keeping the running gear pretty much RTR for the very reasons you've suggested. Thanks for the input... Anyone wondering what to spend their Christmas money on...get a retro ...

Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

Something else to wet your whistle...found a fantastic Japanese website featuring retro buggy racing. http://www93.sakura.ne.jp/~time-tunnel/ Its all in Japanese, but the pictures are in English (just a joke) A real inspiration for anyone wanting to race in the retro buggy class next summer. Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

Gary/Tom...you might be right about broadening the entry criteria; certainly for the first season...see how many people are interested and what buggies are popular. Any suggestions? As Tom said, this is all about having a bit of fun...hopefully it will also provide some close racing. Using 'sliver c...

Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

David, Thanks for confirming the release date of the Cobra...thought it was a 90s model. Also note your comments regarding the Losi XX and Cougar 2000...I'd like this class to be as inclusive as possible, but there needs to be a line drawn somewhere to distinguish retro buggies from modern buggies. ...

Re: Retro Buggy Racing - Summer 09

Yay, some interest in the post...thanks guys. Mark, The Frog is exactly the sort of buggy I'm on about...well regarded for its handling characteristics back in the day when it would put up stiff competition against the likes of the original RC10. You can buy the new and improved model as cheap as ch...
