Re: Saturn 27t Motor and FDR for Quicksilver

I found that FDR to be a bit too high for the class and was able to go way lower. In my tt01 I was able to go with a 26 and even a 27 tooth pinions and you have to run lipo with them. (ordered the pinions from china btw.) Right now I am running 4.6 and it seems really good out front of my house in m...

Which Tamiya tyre works?

Having a look at some tamiya brand touring car tyres but have no idea which ones will work on carpet. Do any of you all know which tyres will work? Thanks

Saturn 27t Motor and FDR for Quicksilver

What kinda FDR are you guys running with this motor? Just built up a car for the class to play around with and then mostlikely sell it.

Thanks

Re: LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Have done some reading. Found out that an FDR of 6.5, feel 4 and boost on 6 is a good setting. I have just changed to trf416 pulleys 18/37 (was 16/36) to get a lower ratio, as running giant pinions on the motor to get a decent FDR strains the motor on the shaft and might increase friction. Oh, well,...

Re: LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Jay, found out why yours speedo is faster. You have the earlier software version which is said to be more aggressive than the recent version 3. I just went on to lrp's website and it is no longer listed there. Hmmm..wonder what's up with that. Trying my best to stay away from the Tekin but cannot wa...

Re: 3 degrees rear toe. TRF 416 or Lookie likey one :-)

If yah do pop by I will borrow those bits from you. I bent one of my rear 1 degree axle carriers at Ardent. No worries if yah don't make it over Or don't get this message as I think I will only be able to make one of the finals tomorrow. I hadn't cut down the axles and I touched the wall and it bent...

Re: 3 degrees rear toe. TRF 416 or Lookie likey one :-)

Got it sorted. Thanks to mr postman. Thanks for letting me know the block numbers. Totally annoying trying to find out which one will create the correct degree of to in. 3 racing ones just say +1 +2 +3. Going out to Ardent for the day. Getting in all this practice and set-up time seems to help quite...

3 degrees rear toe. TRF 416 or Lookie likey one :-)

Just took apart my Tamiya TA05ifs and rebuilt the whole thing with TRF416 suspension with 4 degree aluminium C hubs and the plastic hubs on the rear that came in the upgrade kit. Unfortunately, the aluminium rear hubs I took off had 1 degree of toe and when I put on the plastic ones I lost 1 degree ...

Re: LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Jay, your settings are bang on. Did them at Ardent and tuned with temps from there and it was a totally different car. Thanks for the tip!

Drag brake and motor temps?

Does increasing drag brake increase temps? I'd imagine it would but is it a huge factor when tuning?

Re: LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Thanks jay. I was just wondering that because I have all this cooling do I have to worry about the core temps Of the motor being much higher than what I read on the outside of the motor?

Oh, by the way, the LRP SXX TC Spec Version 2 will not give better performance than the SXX Stock Spec per the rumours.

Re: LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Had to start another post. So... Punch 1 boost 7 man now this is the setting. Few people around the track watched my car, those with tekins and hose without, and was told I'm almost on par with the tekins. Frigging finally.... Finalllly it has happened to me.... Lol as the song goes. I practiced wit...

LRP SXX (software 3). Boost and Temping Help

Arighty, so I got the matching brand motor for my speed control and was lucky enough to have a few LRP sponsored guys at Ardent help me set up my speed control. Their setting were 3 punch and 5 boost. That worked ok but still those Tekin's were just blooooowing me away on the straight. I decided to ...
