Re: 2010 MARDAVE RULES AT HRCCC
I have been taking notice of this new brushless arrangement for the last few weeks, looks good to me, again I agree the speed appears comparible with the G2 motors, I was considering trialing the system next year if allowed, but amending the rules as displayed would be great. My only negative on thi...

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Hi Chaps, Just been doing a spot of web surfing It appears there are two motors used in the kits ,you have the Johnson 540J and the Mabuchi RS-540SH. Both are 27 turn, Most kits these days come with a Johnson 540 The Johnson is very slightly quicker but a little more expensive.I have detailed the sp...

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Its an interesting point you make Daz Bedworth are working on creating a standard class based around the 1/10th scale Carisma, and what your suggesting is the concept of the rules, the RTR car comes with 19t (non race tuned motor), stick pack, basic speedo etc and if raced as is, is fully compliant ...

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
its probably steam powered, look I know lads we are never going to agree on this, but from my point of view I don't have an issue with 27t motors, its the practical availability of the motors and that their so open to misuse, whereas the labelled G2's are obvious and simple to scrutinise. Again I kn...

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Richard, I haven't killed my motor, I'm still running the same motor that came with my car, but its different to the cheap thing justin is referring to.

Re: Clarification of the Quick Silver Series Rules
Agreed Dale, I honestly believe that a tt01 in a fair comparison won't beat an Xray for example. My tt01 has non adjustable shocks, a ride height suitable for offroading and 185mm track width, further more the rear wheels are parallel so without upgrade I wouldn't expect it to be on the pace of the ...

Re: Clarification of the Quick Silver Series Rules
Nick is right though, how can any 1/10th touring car chassis be a RTR, bit of a contridiction in terms really. I personally have always disagreed with this particular principal, even before the rules were written, although James has always claimed that the motor is the limiting factor. Not really be...

Re: Clarification of the Quick Silver Series Rules
I think the new weight linit is 1350g on the touring cars, but why on a standard chassis do we need that ! I thought this was supposed to be simple fun racing, now I see I can only use a 6527 type motor (what on earth is one of those and how do you ever control it when there is no identification on ...

Price would appear right, I wouldn't run them in because once run there not new and someone may have their own preferential method of running in.

Re: Quick Silver - Tamiya & RTR Touring Car Thread
Look lads, I know I keep harping on, but who is going to want to pay £19.50 for a tamiya motor when a mardave silver can is £9 & OK it maybe is slightly faster but is it really that much different. Why don't you just allow Mardave motors ! Isn't this that simple. If this is all about fun then wh...
