Re: BRCA Clubmans (17.5T & 13.5T) Nationals

Guys (and gals), The opening round of the Clubmans series is at Bedworth on the 8th May (Sunday), 3 weeks away. The current level of racers booked in on the Central Booking website is at best disappointing (6 x 17.5 & 14 x 13.5). If you intend racing in this series, show your support and get you...

BRCA Clubmans (17.5T & 13.5T) Nationals

All, The new BRCA Clubmans series is now open for booking in. The classes are 17.5 & 13.5, with open speedo's. Motor's and LiPo's need to be on the BRCA Homologation Lists (links below), tyres are the BRCA sanctioned Sorex 32's. These are one day events, and the booking fee is £12 per round, and...

Re: End of season trophies - love them or hate them?

Personally, I tend to agree that trophies end up gathering dust in the back of a cupboard or loft, and should be replaced with some other award. Whether that be a voucher, a printed certificate or perhaps a number of weeks free racing or something like that I don't know. However I do think that trop...

Re: 2011 membership form

Membership forms are usually handed to Roger at Race Control on Saturday (along with the necessary fees of course).

Re: Cheap Racing ....... 17.5

Michael, The class is in theory to be run to the rules of the new BRCA Clubman series, whenever they get published :) With that in mind, and especially if anyone intends taking part in that series in the Summer, I would recommend getting a motor that appears on the BRCA homologation list of 17.5t mo...

Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

Martyn, I wouldn't want to put 17.5 non-timing in with the Quicksilvers, I was typically at least 1 sec per lap quicker than the fastest Quicksilvers with my 17.5 setup, my best in the last final of the 2010 season was 11.39 against a best of about 13 sec in the corresponding Quicksilver A final. Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

Guys, For the foreseeable future I agree that there are going to be issues with regard to the proposed 17.5 no-timing class. The BRCA have introduced a series for the class over the summer, but (as far as I know) have yet to define a set of rules for this series which I presume will include a list o...

Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

All, I think the idea behind this new class is to re-introduce a Stock Class of Touring, which currently the sport lacks. I am sure that there are going to be teething issues in trying to do this, and short of having a controlled motor/speedo combination this is always going to be difficult. However...

Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

Justin, I have run my speedo on every punch setting over the period that I've had it, if I'm honest I have not noticed any increase or decrease in top-end speed on any of the settings. I have tried to find out if my speedo does indeed have timing advance pre-built in to no avail, only a rumour that ...

When you get it up and running I would love to take part Ian. Somebodys got to tell me how to get a touring car to grip though, take care Rich Richard, I have no problems with grip at all, my car goes round like it's on rails :D Front : 0.5 to 1 degree toe out, 1 degree camber Rear : 3 degrees toe ...

Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

Richard, NG Speedo's are "New Generation", and allow timing to be advanced on-the-fly as the RPM of the motor picks up (or after a pre-defined time period). I think the BRCA are looking to re-introduce a "Stock Touring / Clubman" class akin to 27t brushed, which 13.5t brushless h...

Re: Winter 2011 Series : What Classes

Hi All Just reading this with interest. Unless you ban turbo speedos I think your going to struggle to control this. Don't forget most Turbos speedos have multiple settings and in a competitive sport I feel someone will want to gain a small edge. Your club has a very open and friendly atmosphere I ...

Re: club mardave

The Club does still have a club Mardave, Dale was running and setting it up a couple of weeks ago. I think Neil was looking to borrow it for his son Lee, but Lee ended up running the club Quicksilver instead, I think the last time was towards the end of October.
