Basically it's just the HPI Saturn 27T, the Mabuchi RS540SH, or Johnson 540-J silver can motors. The later two are often included as the stock motor in a Tamiya kit. All three types are readily available and cheap!

Most racers nowadays are using 2.4Ghz radio gear, some are using 40Mhz, and very few are using the 27Mhz bands anymore. I suspect you've got the older 27Mhz type. I presume the club cars are still in the safe at JCC. I don't know if anything from them was transferred to the buggies for outdoor though. Perhaps James knows - we'll have to await his enlightened response!
