Re: Downtime today
They lost power a couple more times too last night. They've closed the fault now so it's apparently resolved.

Downtime today
So it seems OVH had some power issues today (from the update in French ) so the server died. It didn't come back up again by itself so I had to mess around with it a bit. I also noticed the forum was sort of broken which is now fixed too (as well as updated to the latest version). Sorry for an...

Re: Server move
There's a few issues with images on Wordpress (the way it adds links is a bit crap really).
I haven't had time to look into this yet due to work but I am aware!
Update: Fixed, I think

Server move
Hi all, long time no see! I'm going to move the website to another server at some point tomorrow (Sunday). There will probably only be a little downtime (<10 minutes) if all goes to plan. I'll also be sorting out encryption so you'll see the hopefully familiar padlock icon in your browser on hinckle...

Re: Website down Wed 14th Jan
The same machine caused some similar issues again today. Nothing out of the ordinary was changed so I'm wondering if it's a hardware fault (it's ancient).

Website down Wed 14th Jan
Hi, There were some issues (probably caused by me) yesterday. You may have noticed the website not loading or being intermittent. These problems also affected my remote access so I couldn't do anything about it while at work. For the technically minded people, I tried changing the MTU on a router, i...

Re: video links
There's a video page on the main website now that will show a Youtube playlist of your videos, Ian. It'd be nice if showed the individual ones as some kind of gallery but I haven't been able to find a Wordpress plugin that does this well. Another idea is to look into creating you an account on the m...

Server compromised!
Hi all, Over the weekend, I discovered several websites on my server were compromised and used to send out spam e-mails. Scripts were uploaded to many website directories that allowed attackers to execute code on the server. From what I can gather, the main intention was to distribute spam emails. P...

PHPBB3.1 and other updates
As you may have noticed, we've updated to phpBB 3.1 which has a few nice features - https://www.phpbb.com/about/launch/ The old theme is yet to be converted so we're stuck with the default one for now. One notable new thing is that it's supposed to be a lot more tablet/phone friendly (if you're usin...

Re: Team Durango winter videos
Hi Ian,
The one used on the website front page is the best one I have at present so help yourself. I believe it's from the BRCA website and I've only edited the white background out.
I have no idea who created it...
Cheers.

Re: Summer dates
Sorry for the delay but the dates are now on the website. It was mostly my fault for not being on top of my inbox!

Re: Any one experienced in PC upgrade?
SATA2 would be holding the drive back in terms of throughput but you'd still see a huge difference. Most of the speed comes from their very low access times, way under 1ms usually whereas their mechanical counterparts are usually in the range of 5-20s ms. With 10,000 files, it all adds up to a huge ...

Re: Any one experienced in PC upgrade?
I'm not really sure what the warning is about but the two areas you may like to look at are solid state drives (SSDs) or a new graphics card (if you're doing things that need it). People usually buy an SSD and use the existing drive alongside it for storage. Using one as your primary drive will vast...
