Re: On-board camcorders

These cameras record onto a micro sd card. The cards are rated by class. For a class 6 card, the minimum write speed of the card is 6mb/s. With a class 2, the rate is 2mb/s. You'll find with class 2 cards (for these cameras), the footage will skip, because the card can't handle the rate the camera i...

Re: On-board camcorders

These seem to be all the rage lately! I think they're a copy of the Muvi cameras which retail for about £50.

Bought one myself actually! Anyone else looking to get one make sure you get a Class 6 memory card for it, anything less and you'll find that the footage 'skips' a lot.

Re: Which 10.5

Hi Dean, I'd heard a lot about the X12 running very hot, and profiles 7 & 8 on the SPX (which I run) being unsuitable for it. Apparently it feels quite like a brushed motor too with a fair bit of drag brake? Some of the US drivers were saying it requires a different driving style because of this...

Re: Which 10.5

Thought I'd bump this as I know some people are thinking about moving from 13.5 to 10.5. What's the best one to go for? Are the new lrp/nosram stock spec's noticeably better than the likes of GM and Speed Passion?

Re: After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

I think it'll be the esc that makes the difference Ian. What the latest esc's do is increase motor timing on the fly, like having a second gear almost. I've seen it with craigs, one minute I'm level with him on the straight and next he's gone! Unfortunately I couldn't make last Saturday and can't ma...

Re: After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

The way I've justified it to myself is that I'm going to need a new ESC at some point so I may as well buy it now  Hopefully the motor I've got will be quick enough with a new esc and lipo! I think I'm going to go for the new Trakpower lipo, they've not been out that long but I've heard good th...

Re: After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

I think Gibbo is running similar, although he's using some trinity thing that's geared a bit differently to the nosrams etc! Tried everything I can with the kit I've got, just going to have to buy some new bits I think! Keep at it Ian  (I think you're higher in the championship than me at the ...

Re: After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

Dale, I think they're 30C which is why I thought I would see a difference if I upgraded to 40C. I thought if I stayed with a reputable brand the ratings should be about right. I think the BRCA only test things like dimensions etc too, they don't test whether or not the stated performance of the batt...

Re: After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

Changed the ESC settings on Saturday, motor timing is already increased. Car felt a bit better but still not as quick as I'd like. It looks as though it's down to the kit I'm running. I understand the latest ESC's (LRP SPX, GM 120 etc) seem to give an increase in speed over the older stuff like my s...

After a bit more speed (Motor timing etc)

Hi guys, My car feels as though it's lacking a bit of speed on the main straights etc so I've thought about making a few adjustments. I've only done the basic setup on my esc (LRP Sphere 07 spec) and havn't adjusted the timing on my motor (Nosram Storm evo). I think I've got the gearing pretty much ...

Re: Lipo Chargers

That's what I was thinking Martyn, I know that with nimh the charger made a big difference to the performance of the cells, wasn't sure if it was the same with lipos though.

Decided to cancel the v-balance order in the end and go for the new core UDC-30 :D

Lipo Chargers

I've been using an Orion Advantage Charger (Lipo one) for a while now. It doesn't have a built in balancer and I've been waiting around 5 months for apexmodels to send me the trakpower v-balance I ordered! (Apparently there's none in stock anywhere). I'm thinking about changing to a different charge...

"Slion" tape

A few people on Saturday mentioned it was worth getting some of this, but I can't find anywhere in the UK that sells it?
